beIN SPORTS not working with VPN

support background

beIN SPORTS won't load, shows an error, or freezes mid-match while VPN Super is connected? This guide covers the most common causes, steps to try, and what to do when a live stream keeps buffering.

Why isn't beIN SPORTS working with my VPN?

  • The server you're on is busy, which is common at kickoff for big matches
  • beIN SPORTS is detecting VPN traffic and limiting playback
  • The beIN SPORTS app is still using an old connection from before you connected

What can I try if beIN SPORTS isn't working with my VPN?

  1. Update the VPN Super app to the latest version. Open the app and check for an update notification on the home screen. If you don't see one, update it on the App Store or Play Store, or download the latest version.
  2. Switch to a Premium server. Premium servers are built for streaming. If you don't have a Premium subscription yet, you can upgrade here. If a match won't start on your current server, switch to a different one.
  3. Try the browser instead of the app. Open connect.beinsports.com in Chrome or Safari with VPN Super connected and sign in with your beIN CONNECT account.
  4. Refresh your connection. Disconnect and reconnect VPN Super, then quit the beIN SPORTS app and reopen it so it uses the new VPN session. In a browser, close and reopen the tab, or clear your browser cache.

Note: If your browser asks to share your location with connect.beinsports.com, don't allow it. If you've already allowed it, you can remove that permission in your browser settings.

beIN SPORTS freezing during a live match?

Live sport is harder on a connection than on-demand video, and the busiest moments are kickoff and the minutes after a goal. If the stream stalls:

  • Lower the video quality in the player settings until the stream steadies.
  • Stop other streams and downloads on the same network while you watch.
  • Restart the stream. If the picture falls behind, close the player and reopen the match to jump back to live.

beIN SPORTS buffering or low quality with VPN?

If beIN SPORTS loads but keeps buffering or drops to a lower quality, the cause is usually connection speed rather than the server.

Run a speed test at speedtest.net with VPN Super connected. beIN SPORTS recommends at least 10 Mbps for HD. If your speed is below that:

  • Switch to a server closer to you. A shorter distance usually means faster speeds. Compare servers using the ms latency value in the location list.
  • Switch from mobile data to Wi-Fi. A stable Wi-Fi connection can give more reliable playback.

If your speed is fine but buffering continues, work through steps 1 to 3 above.

Watching beIN SPORTS on a TV?

Most of the steps above also apply on Apple TV and Android TV. For TV-specific troubleshooting, see How to fix common issues on Apple TV or How to fix common issues on Android TV.
