Sky Go won't load, shows an error, or keeps buffering while VPN Super is connected? This guide covers the most common causes, steps to try, and what to do if Sky Go keeps asking you to sign in.
Why isn't Sky Go working with my VPN?
- The server you're on is busy during a high-traffic window, such as a big live match
- Sky Go is detecting VPN traffic and limiting playback
- The Sky Go app is still using an old connection, or an outdated version of the app
What can I try if Sky Go isn't working with my VPN?
- Update the VPN Super app to the latest version. Open the app and check for an update notification on the home screen. If you don't see one, update it on the App Store or Play Store, or download the latest version.
- Switch to a Premium server. Premium servers are built for streaming. If you don't have a Premium subscription yet, you can upgrade here. If a channel won't start on your current server, switch to a different one.
- Update the Sky Go app. Install the latest version of Sky Go from your device's app store, then open it with VPN Super connected.
- Refresh your connection. Disconnect and reconnect VPN Super, then quit the Sky Go app and reopen it so it uses the new VPN session.
Sky Go asking you to sign in again?
Sky Go sometimes signs you out after your connection changes. Sign back in with your Sky iD after step 4. If Sky Go says you've reached your device limit, remove a device you no longer use in your Sky account settings, then try again.
Sky Go buffering or low quality with VPN?
If Sky Go loads but keeps buffering or drops to a lower quality, the cause is usually connection speed rather than the server.
Run a speed test at speedtest.net with VPN Super connected. If your speed is low, try these:
- Switch to a server closer to you. A shorter distance usually means faster speeds. Compare servers using the ms latency value in the location list.
- Switch from mobile data to Wi-Fi. A stable Wi-Fi connection can give more reliable playback.
If your speed is fine but buffering continues, work through steps 1 to 3 above.
Still not working?
Contact Support with your physical location, the protocol you're using, your device and OS version, and any error message Sky Go shows.
