Can't connect to VPN Super? Most connection issues clear up in a minute or two. Work through the steps below to get connected to the VPN.
Before you start
- Check that your device has a working internet connection without the VPN turned on. If other apps and websites won't load either, the issue is with your network, not VPN Super.
- Make sure you've allowed VPN Super permission to set up the VPN configuration, as the app can't connect to the VPN without it. This is a standard system message that only needs to be approved once. If you accidentally denied it, uninstall the VPN Super app and reinstall it to trigger the prompt again.
1. Update your app
Check that your VPN Super app is on the latest version:
- Download the latest version for iOS
- Download the latest version for Android
- Download the latest version for Windows
- On Apple TV, open the VPN Super app in the App Store and check if a newer version is available.
- On Android TV or Google TV, open the VPN Super app in the Google Play Store and check if a newer version is available.
2. Try a different VPN server
A single server can get overloaded or might be under maintenance.
- From the VPN Super home screen, select the Location button to open the server list.
- Choose a different server.
- Wait a few seconds for the status to show as connected.
3. Try a different VPN protocol
Some networks work better with a different VPN protocol. On iOS, Android, Windows, and Android TV, you'll see a row of pills at the top of the home screen. If Auto isn't connecting, try selecting a different protocol instead, then connect again.
If you're on a restricted or heavily filtered network, the Super protocol or V2Ray (available on iOS and Android) is designed to connect where others can't. Check out our article on which protocol to choose for more information.
4. Check your network
- Switch networks if you can. Move from Wi-Fi to mobile data (or the other way around) to rule out a network-specific block.
- Restart your router. Turn it off, wait 30 seconds, and turn it back on.
- Public or work networks sometimes block VPN traffic. If you're on one, try switching protocols (Step 3) or connect from a different network.
5. Update your device
Check that your device is running the latest software version.
On iOS:
- Go to Settings > General > Software Update.
- Tap Automatic Updates, then turn on Download iOS Updates.
- Turn on Install iOS Updates.
On Android:
- Open your Android device's Settings app.
- Tap System > Software updates.
On Windows:
- Select Start > Settings > Windows Update > Check for Windows updates.
- If any updates are available for you, select Download & install.
On Apple TV:
- Go to Settings > System > Software Updates > Update Software.
- If there's an update, select Download and Install.
- Wait for your Apple TV to download the update. Keep your Apple TV connected and plugged in to power until the update is complete.
- After the update has downloaded, your Apple TV will restart, prepare the update, and then install it. When the update is complete, your Apple TV will restart again automatically.
On Android TV or Google TV:
- To check your software version, go to Settings > System/Device Preferences > About > Version/Android TV OS Version.
- To update to the latest version, go to Settings > System/Device Preferences > About > System update.
- Wait for your Android or Google TV to download the update. Keep your TV connected and plugged in to power until the update is complete.
