Caracol TV, RCN, Win Sports, and Canal 1 block access from foreign IPs. Inside Colombia, the internet is generally open, but ISP-level issues are more common than most people realise.
A Colombia VPN replaces your real IP with a Colombian one, encrypts your connection, and gives you privacy that your ISP doesn't provide by default.

Smart server selection connects you to the fastest available server based on real-time load. No manual picking needed.
The Bogotá server provides low latency for Colombian streaming platforms, banking apps, and government portals. For users connecting from elsewhere in Latin America, expect 20 to 60ms. From the US East Coast, expect 50 to 80ms. From Europe, expect 120 to 160ms, which is comfortable for streaming and general browsing.
Caracol TV geo-restricts all its live and on-demand content to Colombian IP addresses. Connect to VPN Super's Colombia server and those platforms see a Colombian IP instead.

VPN Super encrypts your connection with AES-256, the same standard used by banks and governments. Your real IP is hidden, your data is encrypted, and your browsing stays between you and your screen.

Yes. VPN use is fully legal in Colombia. There are no laws restricting individuals from using VPN services. Colombia generally maintains an open internet, and the Colombian Constitution (Article 15) protects the right to privacy. As with any jurisdiction, activities illegal without a VPN remain illegal with one.
Colombia's data protection framework is built on a constitutional right. Article 15 of the 1991 Constitution establishes the right to personal and family privacy, including the right to know, update, and rectify personal data (known as habeas data).
The main laws are Statutory Law 1581 of 2012 (the General Data Protection Law) and Decree 1377 of 2013, which provides operational details. The Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC) enforces compliance and can impose fines of up to 2,000 times the monthly minimum wage.
In August 2025, two bills (No. 214/2025 and No. 274/2025) were introduced in the House of Representatives to modernise Law 1581. The reforms would add new rights including data portability, the right to restrict processing, and the right to object to automated decisions, with fines of up to 5% of annual operational revenues for non-compliance.
A VPN encrypts your connection, so your ISP sees traffic to a VPN server rather than the specific websites you visited.
Caracol TV geo-restricts all live and on-demand content to Colombian IP addresses. If your IP isn't Colombian, you'll see a "no disponible en tu región" message.
To watch from abroad, open VPN Super, connect to the Bogotá server, then visit canalrcn.com/senal-en-vivo or the Caracol TV website. If content still shows as restricted, clear your browser cache and cookies. Caracol TV stores location data that can conflict with your new Colombian IP.
Win Sports holds the broadcast rights for Liga BetPlay Dimayor, Copa Colombia, and other Colombian football competitions. The live stream is restricted to Colombian IP addresses.
Open VPN Super, connect to the Bogotá server, then visit winsports.co or open the Win Sports app. Make sure your subscription is linked to a Colombian account, as Win Sports checks both your IP and your account region.
In June 2024, Claro and Movistar blocked Reddit for over 48 hours. The cause was an error in the blocklist: Colombia's DIJIN (judicial police) and MinTIC send ISPs a periodic list of URLs to block (typically targeting child exploitation material and other illegal content). Reddit's domain was accidentally included. The block was lifted after DIJIN identified the mistake and notified operators.
This incident highlighted how ISP-level blocking works in Colombia and why a VPN can help when sites go down unexpectedly.
Reports from Colombian users suggest that some ISPs, particularly on residential connections, throttle VPN traffic by as much as 45-55% compared to baseline speeds. If you experience slower speeds while connected, try switching to a different protocol (WireGuard on Windows, or IKEv2 on mobile) or connecting to a nearby server with lower load.
Open VPN Super, tap the globe icon, scroll to Colombia, and tap Connect. Wait for the green shield. Websites, streaming platforms, and banking apps will treat you as if you're in Bogotá. It takes about five seconds.
Most free VPNs either lack Colombian servers or have server pools so small that streaming platforms block them quickly. Some monetize by logging and reselling browsing data. VPN Super's Free VPN includes Colombia server access, AES-256 encryption, and unlimited bandwidth with no credit card required.
