Unblock WhatsApp and FaceTime calls in Egypt, bypass DPI blocking with VPN Super's V2Ray and Super Protocol, and stream Egyptian TV from anywhere—even when other VPNs get blocked.
Egyptian streaming services and banking portals geo-restrict the moment you leave the country. Inside Egypt, the situation is different from most places. Egyptian ISPs use deep packet inspection (DPI) to block VoIP calls on WhatsApp, FaceTime, and Skype. An Egypt VPN gives you an Egyptian IP when you're abroad and a foreign IP when you need one at home. V2Ray on iOS and Android are built to work in restricted network environments where standard VPN protocols fail.
WhatsApp calls, FaceTime, Viber, and Skype voice and video calls are blocked by Egyptian ISPs. Text messaging still works, but calls don't. A VPN routes your call traffic through an encrypted tunnel so your ISP can't identify and block it.
Watch iT, Shahid, ON TV, CBC Egypt, and DMC all check your IP. An Egypt VPN makes it look like you're browsing from inside the country, bypassing geo-blocks.
Your connection is encrypted the moment you connect to public Wi-Fi at a hotel, café, or airport in Cairo.
Egyptian ISPs like WE (Telecom Egypt), Vodafone, Orange, and Etisalat are required to retain browsing records for up to two years. A VPN encrypts your traffic so your ISP sees a connection to a VPN server, not the sites you visit.
Egyptian ISPs block VoIP services to protect state-owned telecom revenues. Voice and video calls on WhatsApp, FaceTime, Viber, and Skype are routinely blocked. A VPN can help route call traffic past these restrictions, though results vary by ISP and network conditions.
Discord was blocked across WE and Vodafone in January 2026. When platforms go dark, a VPN is often the only way back in.
Egypt deploys DPI to detect and block standard VPN protocols. If your VPN connects but drops after 30 seconds, or hangs on "Connecting..." forever, DPI is likely the cause. VPN Super's V2Ray and Super Protocol on iOS and Android are designed to disguise traffic and work in restricted environments.
Hotel, airport, or café networks are easy targets. A VPN encrypts your traffic so nobody on the same network can see what you're doing.
Watch iT, Shahid, and Egyptian TV channels geo-restrict to local IPs. Connect to an Egypt VPN server and the catalog comes back.
An Egypt VPN keeps your Watch iT, Shahid, and Egyptian banking access working wherever you are.
VPN Super offers V2Ray and Super Protocol on iOS and Android, both designed for restricted networks. Download before you travel, because VPN provider websites are often blocked inside Egypt.
Get the App on iOS, Android, Windows, or macOS.
Tap the globe icon. Select Egypt for a local IP, or pick another country to unblock VoIP and restricted platforms.
Wait for the green shield. If you're in Egypt and the connection stalls, switch to V2Ray or Super Protocol in the app settings (iOS/Android).

VPN Super encrypts your connection with AES-256, the same standard used by banks and governments. Your real IP is hidden, your data is encrypted, and your browsing stays between you and your screen.
Egyptian ISPs block VoIP. Connect to a VPN Super server outside Egypt and your calls route through an encrypted tunnel. Voice and video calls on WhatsApp, FaceTime, Viber, and Skype can work again.
Discord, Signal, and other platforms are periodically blocked in Egypt. A VPN connection to a server outside the country brings them back.
Stream Watch iT, Shahid, ON TV, CBC Egypt, and DMC from any country. Connect to the Cairo server and your shows come with you.
Hide your IP and encrypt your traffic. Your ISP and anyone on the same Wi-Fi network can't see what you're doing.
Cairo International Airport, hotel lobbies in Hurghada, cafés in Alexandria, co-working spaces in New Cairo. Connect to VPN Super before you do anything else.
National Bank of Egypt, Banque Misr, CIB, and government portals like egypt.gov.eg can flag non-Egyptian IPs. One tap brings them back.
Egypt has some of the lowest streaming subscription prices in the region. Connect to the Cairo server to see Egyptian pricing on platforms that adjust by location.
VPN Super works across all major platforms. Download the App, connect to a Egyptian server, and you're protected.
VPN Super is one of the most downloaded VPN apps in the world, with over 100 million installs across iOS and Android. That’s not a marketing number. That’s people choosing to connect, day after day.
The connection is fast, stable, and secure, and I never have trouble streaming or browsing. It's super easy to use, with quick server connections and a simple interface. I really appreciate that it keeps my privacy protected without costing anything. Definitely one of the best VPNs I've ever tried — highly recommend!
Initially skeptical after using other apps like Orbot, Tor browser, Surfshark and others. This VPN is seemingly very stable with servers available for other countries and fast continual connectivity.
I've found this VPN to be really reliable and easy to use. The connection speed is fast, even when streaming or browsing on different servers, and switching locations only takes a few seconds. I also like the extra privacy and security it gives me when using public Wi-Fi. The app is simple to set up, and it runs smoothly in the background without slowing my device down. Overall, it's a great option if you want both protection and convenience online.
Ready to get a VPN for Egypt? Here's what to look for.
Egypt uses DPI to block OpenVPN, PPTP, and L2TP traffic. If a VPN doesn't offer obfuscation or stealth protocols, it will likely fail on Egyptian networks. VPN Super's V2Ray and Super Protocol (iOS/Android) are designed to disguise traffic and adapt to restricted environments.
VPN Super offers a Free VPN with no strings attached, plus Premium Subscriptions in 1-month, 6-month, and 12-month tiers. No hidden charges, no auto-renewal traps.
Watch iT and Egyptian TV channels geo-check aggressively. Many VPN providers either lack Egyptian servers or get flagged within days. VPN Super runs servers in Cairo and refreshes IPs regularly so local platforms see a clean Egyptian IP address.
With ISPs retaining browsing records for two years and DPI actively blocking VPN protocols, Egypt is one of the more challenging VPN markets. Look for a no-activity-logs policy, AES-256 encryption, and protocols built for restricted networks. That's what VPN Super delivers.
VPN technology is not explicitly illegal in Egypt. There is no law that specifically bans downloading or using a VPN. However, Egypt's Cybercrime Law (Law No. 175 of 2018) criminalizes accessing websites that have been officially blocked, with penalties of up to one year in prison. Using a VPN to access blocked content therefore carries legal risk. As with any jurisdiction, activities illegal without a VPN remain illegal with one.
Egyptian ISPs deploy deep packet inspection (DPI) to identify and block VPN protocols. OpenVPN, PPTP, and L2TP have been actively blocked since late 2022. WireGuard connections are also reported as unreliable on some networks.
Symptoms of DPI blocking include: your app hanging on "Connecting..." without ever establishing a tunnel, connections dropping after 30 to 90 seconds, or the app failing to fetch server lists.
The fix is a protocol that disguises VPN traffic. On VPN Super, switch to V2Ray or Super Protocol in the app settings (iOS/Android). These protocols make your traffic look like regular web browsing, which is harder for DPI to detect and block. If you're on Windows, try IKEv2, which may perform better than OpenVPN on Egyptian networks.
Egyptian ISPs block VoIP services including WhatsApp calls, FaceTime, Viber, and Skype. Text messaging still works without a VPN, but voice and video calls do not.
To unblock calls, open VPN Super, connect to a server outside Egypt (nearby countries in the Middle East or Europe tend to give better call quality), and then open your calling app. If calls still drop, switch to V2Ray or Super Protocol and try a different server location.
Results can vary by ISP and time of day. VoIP calls are more bandwidth-sensitive than browsing, so a nearby server with low latency gives the best results.
Discord was blocked across major Egyptian ISPs including WE and Vodafone in January 2026. The block triggered a 320% surge in VPN sign-ups from Egypt according to Proton VPN's published data.
To access Discord, connect to any VPN Super server outside Egypt before opening the Discord app or visiting discord.com. V2Ray or Super Protocol (iOS/Android) will give you the most reliable connection on Egyptian networks.
Egypt's internet restrictions rest on several legal pillars. The Cybercrime Law (Law No. 175 of 2018) gives authorities the power to block websites deemed a threat to national security or the national economy. Over 600 websites have been blocked since 2017, including 116 media outlets, 394 VPN and proxy services, and 15 human rights websites.
The Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 151 of 2020) governs how organizations handle personal data. ISPs are required to retain browsing records for up to two years.
On the network level, Egyptian ISPs deploy DPI technology to detect and throttle VPN traffic, effectively adding a technical enforcement layer on top of the legal framework.
Yes. Egypt blocks access to over 394 VPN and proxy provider websites. If you wait until you arrive, you may not be able to visit VPN Super's website or download the app from a browser. Install VPN Super, sign in, and test your connection before your trip. On iOS and Android, make sure V2Ray or Super Protocol is available in your protocol settings so you have a working fallback ready.
Most free VPNs lack the obfuscation technology needed to work in Egypt. Standard OpenVPN connections are blocked by DPI, so a free VPN without stealth protocols will likely fail. VPN Super's Free VPN includes Egypt server access, AES-256 encryption, unlimited bandwidth, and access to V2Ray and Super Protocol on iOS and Android. No credit card required.
Watch iT, Shahid, and Egyptian TV channels (ON TV, CBC Egypt, DMC, Al Hayah TV) geo-restrict content to Egyptian IP addresses. To watch from abroad, open VPN Super, connect to the Cairo server, then open the streaming app or visit the channel's website. If content still shows as restricted, clear your browser cache and cookies.
Standard protocols (OpenVPN, PPTP, L2TP) are blocked by Egyptian DPI. WireGuard is also reported as unreliable. On VPN Super:
For iOS and Android, use V2Ray or Super Protocol. V2Ray disguises your traffic to look like regular HTTPS browsing. Super Protocol adapts automatically to your network conditions. Both are designed for restricted environments.
For Windows, IKEv2 tends to be more resilient than OpenVPN on Egyptian networks, though performance varies by ISP. WireGuard may work on some networks but is not reliable across all providers.
We're confident you'll love the speed, security, and freedom VPN Super gives you. But if you're not completely satisfied, no worries—just reach out within 30 days and we'll give you a full refund. No hassle. No questions asked. Total peace of mind.
