For most users, Auto is the best choice. It automatically selects the most suitable protocol for your network, balancing speed, security, and connectivity. Keep your protocol on Auto unless you're having trouble connecting.
VPN Super supports multiple protocols, each suited to different situations:
1. V2Ray (Available on iOS and Android)
V2Ray uses advanced blocking technology to overcome network restrictions and deep packet inspection, so it's a good first option if you're in a heavily censored region.
2. Super protocol (Available on iOS and Android in select countries)
The Super protocol disguises VPN traffic as regular internet traffic, helping it hold a stable connection in regions where standard protocols get blocked.
3. IKEv2 (Available on iOS and Android)
IKEv2 is fast and stable, especially on mobile networks, because it reconnects automatically when switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data. It's a reliable fallback if V2Ray and Super protocol are not available in your region.
4. OpenVPN (Available on iOS, Android, and Windows)
OpenVPN may perform slower on mobile and in certain environments, but it's widely compatible with most operating systems and devices. It's a good fallback if the protocols above are not available on your device or in your region.
5. WireGuard (Available on Windows)
WireGuard combines fast speeds with state-of-the-art cryptography, so it's a great choice for streaming and gaming, and everyday browsing.
Protocols are switched directly from the home screen; there's no need to go into your app settings.
To change your VPN protocol, open the VPN Super app and select your preferred protocol on the home screen. If you're not sure which VPN protocol to use, select "Auto" and our app will choose the best protocol for you based on your location.
